"The following interview provides an intimate look into the creative world of visual artist and photographer Leanne Trivett S. Her early training in musical theatre and her professional experience as a singer and stage performer lend a unique perspective to her visual work, where narrative, gesture, and emotion intertwine with the photographic composition.

Amor, in B&W, from my series TE AMO: A Visual Love Letter

My series “Te Amo” is a collection of images that represents a love letter to my husband, Roderick, from a trip we took to Spain.  We traveled to San Sebastián in the spring of 2024, and while taking in the luscious sunshine, we fell under the spell of the local culture, delectable food, and “tesoros” from the market .  Enjoying the romance and passion of the area, I photographed these lovely florals as intimate moments, to represent the amor and energy we were feeling in this vibrant city.  It is a love letter to my husband and to the beautiful city of San Sebastián, Spain.

“What does a portrait look like in the 21st Century? Today everyone with a smartphone is a photographer, and many young people are taking hundreds of selfies a week, and more people seem interested in analog photography and alternative processes dating back to the 1800’s."
